I started this mini-series for November to give myself a goal of blogging everyday for the month about the things I am most thankful for. I have always loved these challenges but never stuck to them. I decided this was the year and that there is more than ever to be thankful for and I want to share it with the ones I love most.
I decided early on in my pregnancy that I wanted to try cloth diapers. And I am pretty sure there were some people who thought we were crazy.
But I didn’t care. I was going to give it a shot.
It felt weird not buying disposable diapers during my pregnancy like most new moms. We got a few for our shower and those lasted us till we were ready to start cloth.
There is just something so natural and organic about using cloth. We even use cloth wipes my grandma made. I feel good about saving the money and the landfills.
And they’re so easy. I throw them on her butt like a disposable and call it good. I do have to wash them but it takes no less time then throwing in a load of clothes.
I have also noticed how much less diaper rash she has in cloth than disposables. She still wears a disposable at night and for traveling (no one wants me to wash poopy diapers in their washing machine)! I start to notice after a week of traveling her bum gets raw from the wipes and diapers but clears up the instant we switch to cloth.
To me, there is nothing cuter than seeing her crawl around in a cute printed diaper. I can’t wait to do cloth with our next as well!
